Day 4 Will I ever be able to cook something new again?
I am really, really trying to start my day off with breakfast but it's the one meal I tend to skip and it's also the fact that I don't really want to start eating the first thing I do when I get up.
But this New Years Eve brings:
Breakfast: my own oatmeal-mix (more on that further down if you are interested)
Lunch: repeat of yesterday's lunch but with added carrots.
Dinner: masked potatoes, stew, salad and lingonberries.
Dessert: Brownie bite! Why mess with perfection?
So basically using the same things from the last 1-2 days. :) And it hasn't even put a dent in my food storage!
So... the oat mix you say?
That is actually a long story that I am trying to keep short. So. I was supposed to go on a 3 week long hike this past summer. But something happened in the first few nights and I woke up feeling something was "stuck" in my back. I did go home and a few days after something was really wrong with my back and the pain was so severe I had to be transported to the doctor via ambulance. After that I spent the next 3 weeks not being able to move!
So all the packages of oatmeal I had prepped for myself was recycled. ;) I put everything in a big container. And I've added more "stuff" as time went on.
As of today there is oats, chia seeds, hemp seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, mix of small pieces of every fruit and berry I could find. And I mean them ALL! I had also seasoned some of the meal packets with cinnamon, others with cardamon and also put a fair amount of chocolate in a couple of them. And this is all in one batch now.
Last week I added 2 different muesli and also some granola! I just keep adding and adding. At one point I had more than 3 liters (3/4 gallon) of this mix.
I use this for making oatmeal, overnight oats, baking and it's been such a time saver! And delicious too!
