Herman friendship cake

 



About 30 years ago a type of a starter dough became popular here in Sweden... oh am I really that old? Holy Hannah!

Back to the start. This friendship cake was passed around. Basically you got a starter and you nursed it for 10 days and after that you divide it in 5 parts. You keep, bake or give away as many as you like. I usually keep one to start over with and 4 to bake.

I have the recipe in Swedish here and I am going to try to translate it into English but there are some quirks when it comes to conversion of measurements but I can give it a try.
